Norfolk Naval Shipyard Dry Dock #4

Norfolk Naval Shipyard Dry Dock #4 Heard Concrete was contracted by W. F. Magann to install the new dry dock floor including new trench drains and caisson seats. We assisted in the drilling and installation of thousands of dowels grouted into the existing base concrete. Next, over 5,000cy of heavy-duty reinforced concrete paving was installed in checkerboard patterns along with new trench drain walls. The caisson seats provided a challenge as setting large heavy stainless-steel plates had very tight tolerances. We also installed a raised electrical platform on pile supports and a large cast in place electrical vault.

Chambers Field Magazine – Naval Station Norfolk, Virginia Heard Concrete is currently working on two new cast in place concrete magazines located at Chambers Field, NAS Norfolk. This project also includes the installation of multiple support buildings with monolithic slabs on grade.
